The first batch of Ghanaian troops on February 11, 2013 left Accra for Mali on a peace keeping mission in that country.
The 30 soldiers who are part of the 120 troops Ghana is deploying to support the African-led International Support Mission in Mali were from the 48 Engineer Regiment.
Ghana’s contribution to peace keeping in Mali is to fulfill her commitment to international peace keeping and security.
They were seen off by the British High Commissioner to Ghana H.E Peter Jones.
The soldiers were airlifted by the C-7 transport of the Royal Air Force plane of the United Kingdom. Photos by David Andoh.
